Aim : Create a pollen of carnivorous plants exchange. Sometimes it's difficult to have two plants of a same taxon sexually compatible, in that case, it's impossible to reproduce the plants without any help. This unit wil give, time after time, the technical facts necessary for the good working of this exchange.

I) Research

In our department, we want to know the different pollen characteristics of each species. We study under a microscope in order to learn about the size, the form, and the ornementation. We test the duration of well-preserved in the fridge and in the freezer, and we also make tests to see if it's transportable or not. You are a biologist, you like reseach, join us.

II) Exchange

Exchanging pollen is more difficult than exchanging seeds. The pollen's time preserving is limited, it's also sensitive to heat, humidity, and have to be kept in particular conditions. To have a good exchange of pollen, we need a rigorous logistic, and some teaching aids like practical works about the harversting of the pollen, its preserving, its travelling, practical works about pollinisation, hybridization... Our team works with the "Research" and the "Practical works" departments in order to be able to offer you those teaching aids.
